Description
Cloud, a light grey Corriedale roving / top. An all purpose wool at around 27 microns, this smooth combed Corriedale roving comes from New Zealand. These combed wool tops are about 4m per 100gm (4yd/3.5oz), and 23g/m (0.81oz/yd). With a long staple length of up to 80mm, Corriedale roving suits all kinds of felting projects that require a sturdier fibre. Still soft, but with more bulk and spring than merino, Corriedale is a great wool for needle felting and also spins beautifully . This roving can be blended or carded with a variety of other wool and fibres such as viscose.
Dyeing of this DHG product complies with Oeko-Tex standards for safety and GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standard. While this light grey corriedale roving or sliver comes in a flattish rope-like format with fibres aligned in one direction, we also stock a carded Corriedale . ‘Maori’ batts are a blend of Corriedale and Coopworth wool and another favourite for needle felting and available in a variety of colours.
Corriedale sheep are the oldest of all the crossbred breeds with a hardy constitution and long life span. Corriedale is popular as a general purpose wool and can be spun or felted for almost any purpose.
