Evening, a deep blue wool batt carded from 27 micron fibre. A fluffy wool batt with a shortish staple length of around 5cm that suits wet felting, needle felting and spinning. Named ‘Maori’ as a tribute to the New Zealand origin of the Corriedale and Coopworth wool used to make up this blend. Available in a variety of colours, carded wool batts simplify the laying out process, especially when making larger items. The intermingled fibres of the Maori wool batt allows for fast wet felting and particularly favoured by needle felters. These ‘blankets’ of fibre suit structural or dimensional felting due to the speed and ease of laying out.
Created by DHG in 2007 and now an iconic product in their range, the fibre comes from non mulesed flocks. Dyeing complies with Oeko-Tex standard 100 in DHG’s GOTS certified dye house in Tuscany, Italy. This deep blue wool batt coordinates with other products in our wool / fibre range with the same colour name. For undyed wool batts, see our Bergschaf range of carded wool. While every effort is used to portray colours accurately, various devices may display colours differently. Very small variations in colour may also occur from one dye lot to another. Despite washing before carding, some flecks of vegetable matter (non-viable) may be seen.
