Fir, a dark green corriedale roving / top. An all purpose wool at around 27 microns, this smooth combed Corriedale roving comes from New Zealand. These combed wool tops are about 4m per 100gm (4yd/3.5oz), and 23g/m (0.81oz/yd). With a long staple length of up to 80mm, Corriedale roving suits all kinds of felting projects that require a sturdier fibre. While still soft, it possesses more bulk and spring than merino, making Corriedale a great wool for needle felting. It also spins beautifully and can be blended or carded with a variety of other wool and fibres including viscose.
Dyeing of this DHG product complies with Oeko-Tex standards for safety and GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standard. While this dark green corriedale roving comes in a rope-like format with the fibres aligned, we also stock carded Corriedale . ‘Maori’ batts – a blend of Corriedale and Coopworth wool, favoured by needle felters and available in a variety of colours.
