Needle felting wool

We stock a variety of needle felting wool, from extra fine 19 micron merino roving to 30 micron wool batts. Merino works particularly well for fine details and  available in solid colours, mixed fibres and  colour blends.  Weight options range from 10gm upwards to suit any project. Combed roving  can be used as is, or carded with fibre blenders to create unique little batts.

A little like a matted wool blanket, the intermingled fibre of carded wool batts speeds up the process of needle felting. Our Maori wool batts come in a variety of colours. At around 27 microns, this blend combines Corriedale and Coopworth wool from New Zealand. Slightly coarser, Bergschaf wool batts in natural colours also work  well for building up structure or as a core wool.

All our wool roving and batts come from un-mulesed flocks.  Dyeing complies with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 in a GOTS certified dye-house. Despite washing before carding, small pieces of vegetable matter may be visible. The washing process renders any organic particles unviable.
