We also now stock natural Corriedale roving, a stronger wool at 27 microns with many applications for spinning, felting and weaving, as well as 15 other colours. Other un-dyed products include Bergschaf wool batts in natural fleece colours of white & grey. At around 33 microns, Bergschaf suits heavier felting projects. Undyed 19 micron wool nepps make interesting effects in felting and spun yarns.
These raw fibres have not been through any lightening or colouring process and are slightly off white rather that pure white. As a result, they are also softer and easier to work with. Because is is a protein fibre, wool will readily take up acid dyes. Natural white fibre readily accepts dye either before or after felting or spinning with it.
