Natural wool - Undyed roving

Natural, undyed wool  – Merino  &  Corriedale. Our undyed merino wool roving / tops are available in 16 to 22.5 microns as well as 19 micron roving. For some extra sheen and luxury, see natural options in our selection of exclusive Uniblend wool /viscose 50:50 roving as well as merino & silk blends.

We also now stock Corriedale roving, a stronger wool at 27 microns with many applications for spinning, felting and weaving. Other un-dyed products include Bergschaf wool batts in natural fleece colours of white, grey and brown. At around  30 microns, Bergschaf suits heavier felting projects. Natural or ecru ‘cheeses’ of wool pre-yarn, waste and pencil roving are great to use for interesting effects.

These raw fibres have not been through any lightening or colouring process and are slightly off white rather that pure white. As a result, they are also softer and easier to work with. Because is is a protein fibre,  wool will readily take up acid  dyes. The dyeing process can be done after felting or spinning.
