Maori carded wool batts

An excellent wool for needle felting, ‘Maori’ carded wool batts comprise a mix of New Zealand wools. At around 27 micron, these batts suit wet felting, dry needle felting and spinning.  Using carded wool also suits 3D felting projects like boots, bags and larger projects that require a sturdier wool.    Created by DHG and now an iconic product from their range, colours range from soft pastels to bright colours.  Fast to felt, the staple length measures around 5cm in these fluffy batts.

Named ‘Maori’ in recognition of the origin of this wool and sourced from ethically raised flocks. The fibre for these carded wool batts originates from popular NZ breeds, a blend of fibre from Corriedale and Coopworth sheep. Despite the rigorous washing process during production, some non-viable vegetal matter may be visible.  The dyeing process complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 in DHG’s GOTS5.0 and GRS certified dye house.
